The 2011 SSCE Conference focussed on the ethics of sport, with the relation between sport and religion as the basic theme of the conference. This theme was addressed from various perspectives, including that of discipline, liturgy, play and the transcendent. Featuring various theologians, including Graham Ward, Brian Brock and Dominic Erdozain, the conference also brought theological reflection into direct conversation with other disciplines and professions. Joining this conference was Dr Andrew Edgar, Lecturer in Philosophy and Chair of the British Philosophy of Sport Association. A panel of experts in community organisation discussed the 2012 Olympics and its ongoing impact on London in particular.
